On February 19, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council held the "AI Enabling Industry Rejuvenation" Central Enterprise artificial intelligence thematic promotion meeting.  Wen Weinan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was invited to introduce the development of artificial intelligence innovation. Tan Zuojun, Yuan Ye and Wang Hongzhi, members of the Party Committee and deputy directors of the SASAC of The State Council, attended the meeting via video. Gou Ping, member of the Party Committee and deputy director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council chaired the meeting.

The meeting held that accelerating the development of artificial intelligence is an inevitable requirement for state-owned central enterprises to play their functional missions, seize strategic opportunities, cultivate new quality productivity, and promote high-quality development. Central enterprises should take the initiative to embrace the profound changes brought about by artificial intelligence, place the acceleration of the development of a new generation of artificial intelligence in a more prominent position, constantly strengthen innovation strategies, application demonstrations and talent accumulation, strive to build artificial intelligence industrial clusters, give full play to the advantages of large scale demand, complete industrial supporting, and multiple application scenarios, and take the lead in seizing artificial intelligence to empower traditional industries. Accelerate the construction of a data-driven, human-machine collaboration, cross-border integration, co-creation and sharing of intelligent economy.

The meeting stressed that central enterprises should put the development of artificial intelligence in the overall work of planning, in-depth promotion of industrial renewal, accelerate the layout and development of artificial intelligence industry. It is necessary to consolidate the development foundation, concentrate the main resources into the most needed and advantageous areas, accelerate the construction of a number of intelligent computing power centers, further deepen opening-up and cooperation, and better play the role of cross-central enterprises collaborative innovation platforms. AI+ special actions will be carried out to strengthen demand traction, accelerate the empowerment of key industries, build a number of high-quality multi-modal data sets for industries, and create a large model enabling industrial ecology from infrastructure, algorithm tools, intelligent platforms to solutions.

At the meeting, representatives of AI head enterprises and central enterprises exchanged speeches. 10 central enterprises signed a proposal, saying that they will take the initiative to open artificial intelligence application scenarios to the society.

The meeting was held in a combination of live and video format. The secretary general and deputy secretary general of The State Council SASAC, the responsible comrades of the relevant units of the central and state organs, the mainly responsible comrades of the central enterprises, and the responsible comrades of the departments and bureaus of The State Council SASAC attended the meeting.
