Tang jun, deputy director of the state administration of market supervision and administration of China, said the theme of this year's world accreditation day reflected the importance of certification and accreditation in the global supply chain. The general administration of market supervision will comprehensively deepen the reform of certification and accreditation, and actively promote the development of certification and accreditation inspection and testing "marketization, internationalization, specialization, intensification and standardization". We will actively expand mutual recognition of international cooperation and realize the vision and goal of "one certificate, regional access and global mutual recognition".

Xiao jianhua, chairman of BBS and director of China national accreditation center for conformity assessment, said certification and accreditation helps improve the efficiency, security and value of the supply chain. The theme of this year's world accreditation day focuses on the supply chain, aiming to give full play to the fundamental role of certification and accreditation in promoting the value of supply chain.

In 2007, the international accreditation BBS (IAF) and the international laboratory accreditation cooperation organization (ILAC) jointly held in Sydney, Australia, confirmed that from 2008, every year on June 9 as "world accreditation day".

Supply chains play an important role in providing consumers, businesses and the public sector with timely, cost-effective and high-quality products and services. Supply chains are moving from complex systems that span multiple domains to new and diverse systems that meet not only the needs of all stakeholders, but also the needs of sustainable development and high-quality supply.

Xiao jianhua said that the recognition and standardization, measurement, conformity assessment and other quality infrastructure as widely accepted tools can help enhance the value of the supply chain and enhance people's confidence in products and services and the way they are put on the market by promoting trust and enhancing assurance.

The economies covered by the recognition system are estimated to account for 96 per cent of global gross domestic product. The international accreditation system helps ensure consistency in the work of global accreditation bodies and in the application of international standards among accreditation bodies. The 2019 world recognition day aims to highlight and celebrate the role of recognition in promoting value in the supply chain. It aims to make enterprises, governments, regulators and consumers better understand the role of recognition in adding value to the supply chain.
