Recently, the Party Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council held an expanded meeting to improve work measures and promote state-owned enterprises to participate in the construction of the "Belt and Road" with higher standards and high quality.

 

The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council has made it clear that it is necessary to focus on the eight actions of China's support for high-quality co-construction of the "Belt and Road", coordinate the participation of state-owned enterprises in the "Belt and Road" construction, combine the reform of state-owned enterprises to deepen and improve the action, promote the layout of strategic emerging industries and other major work, strengthen the overall planning, and strive to play a greater role in the service of co-construction of the "Belt and Road".

 

Since the Belt and Road Initiative was put forward, state-owned and central enterprises have responded positively, participating in more than 5,000 investment and cooperation projects worth more than one trillion US dollars in 140 co-building countries, playing an important role in promoting national connectivity, economic and social development, and improving people's livelihood. In the practice of jointly building the "Belt and Road", relevant central enterprises have constantly explored ways to enhance their international competitiveness, and achieved new results in international operation.

 

After its first vigorous decade, the Belt and Road Initiative is heading for its next golden decade. As an important participant and promoter of the Belt and Road Initiative, state-owned enterprises are looking for more opportunities for economic and trade cooperation, creating more new highlights and new benchmarks for cooperation, and injecting new vitality into high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.

 

For example, at the recently held "Belt and Road" entrepreneurs Conference, central enterprises performed well and signed a large number of practical cooperation projects with co-construction countries, covering infrastructure, clean energy, rail transportation and many other fields.

 

A number of enterprises under China Minmetals signed a number of agreements with national enterprises under the "Belt and Road" cooperation on nickel and cobalt ore supply and manganese ore procurement. In recent years, this international mining enterprise group has given full play to the advantages of industrial chain integration, deeply cultivated the "Belt and Road", laid out overseas markets, and has carried out extensive business in more than 40 co-construction countries.

 

Weng Zuliang, chairman of China Minmetals, said that the company is willing to work with co-construction countries to strengthen regional mineral resources exploration and supporting technology research, increase investment in mining development, further promote industrial cooperation, and promote the "Belt and Road" mining industry to achieve sustainable development.

 

In May this year, Nigeria's Dangote Refinery project, one of the world's largest refinery projects, was officially opened, with the participation of several Chinese companies, including China Chemical Engineering Group.

 

"We have given full play to our professional strengths and cooperated in the construction of a large number of iconic chemical plants and chemical plants in co-built countries, helping these countries to shift from direct export of energy to export of chemical products, promoting the industrialization process of the host countries and providing a large number of job opportunities." Dai Hegen, chairman of China Chemical Engineering Group, said.

 

Not long ago, China Chemical Engineering Group enterprises and South African enterprises signed 80,000 tons/year sulfuric acid process titanium white project EPC contract, the project adopts Chinese standards and domestic equipment, in accordance with China's project management model, after the completion of not only can effectively meet the domestic demand of South Africa, but also radiate the African continent market.

 

While cooperation in traditional fields continues to expand, state-owned enterprises have also focused more on new areas of cooperation such as green development and digital economy.

 

It is understood that recently, China Energy Construction and co-construction countries signed a number of projects such as the Larissa natural gas and hydrogen combined cycle power plant in Greece, and the Tashkent photovoltaic and energy storage project in Uzbekistan, covering a variety of business types such as photovoltaic power plants, energy storage, and wind power.

 

"Green is the foundation of the Belt and Road Initiative." Song Xin, chairman of China Energy Conservation, told reporters that as a central enterprise with energy conservation and environmental protection as its main business, in the next step, China Energy Conservation will promote more main business projects to land in the co-construction of the country, create more green and low-carbon demonstration projects, so that China's advanced photovoltaic power generation, wind power generation, waste treatment, sewage treatment technology and related process equipment can better benefit the co-construction of the country.
