The first One Belt And One Road Forum for International Cooperation held in May 2017 was attended by heads of state or government of 29 countries and more than 1,600 representatives from over 140 countries and 80 international organizations. Later, in April 2019, the second One Belt And One Road Forum for International Cooperation was held again. In June 2020, the "One Belt And One Road" High-Level Video Conference on International Cooperation was held in Beijing. Over the past years, the "One Belt And One Road" project, first initiated in China, has spread across countries and regions, different stages of economic and social development and diverse civilizations, and has increasingly become an open and inclusive platform for cooperation and a global public good jointly created by all parties. Important resolutions adopted by the UN General Assembly and the UN Security Council have also incorporated the content of the "One Belt And One Road" construction.

The practice of creating trade frictions and even fighting a trade war is not only harmful to ourselves, but also causes criticism and resistance. The COVID-19 epidemic that has been spreading around the world since 2020, while encouraging inward-looking tendencies in some countries, cannot stop the process of globalization. The disruption of supply chains during the epidemic, and the disruption and loss caused by the blockage of the Suez Canal, are negative proof that globalization cannot be reversed, and that globalization remains fragile. This vulnerability is reflected both in the lack of sufficient communication of will to cooperate and in the huge gaps in the infrastructure that connects the world.
